Which planet am I landing on?

Acrylic on canvas, 2011, 12" x 9.5".

Confusion was the main inspiration behind this painting. For so long people had been desperately trying to tell me I was wrong, but I never understood why. I didn't see that I could be wrong, and it seemed that nobody around me could see that I could be right. I'll not go any further into philosophy here, as I mentioned it in my previous post.

Times have changed a lot since then. Now it is not so often that I come up against the accusations and the confusion as to why everyone is so keen to prove me wrong. So maybe this means that I have landed on the right planet, at least some of the time anyway.

  1. Greetings my friend,
Just a thought. I have observed that a number of people who tried to prove me wrong, indeed, to devalue my validity, were trying to mask their own insecurities.
And this fragile planet welcomes your interaction, with the hopes of a better understanding, a better awareness, amongst us all.
With respect and kind wishes, Gary

  2. Thank you Gary for another thought provoking comment. Indeed those who question others do often have their own insecurities. And it is always good that people see something positive from this blog, whatever that may be.

  3. It is odd how devoted most people are to proving how right they are, even at the expense of another person. In my opinion, there is far more to the world than right. For example, just the other day I looked to the left. Driving my car, I know the right is over there on my right, but for some reason I don't feel compelled to be there all the time. Rightness, it seems, is more about proving the existence of rightness than simply seeing things for what they are. Just a thought. :)

  4. Interesting comment Mark. I think it is important to look at the world philosophically. Thank you.
